Montgomery Auto Accident Kills Mobile Resident

A car wreck on Interstate 65 in Montgomery has sadly claimed the life of 19 year old Jessica Sylvester of Mobile, Alabama. The car accident happened early Saturday morning when Ms. Sylvester's car crossed a median and struck an 18-wheeler head on. According to reports, Alabama State Troopers are still investigating this tragic accident, but believe the Mobile teenager may have been on her cell phone at the time of the crash.

Research has shown that using a cell phone use while driving, whether it's hand-held or hands-free, delays a driver's reactions as much as having a blood alcohol concentration at the legal limit of .08 percent. Drivers who use hand-held devices are 4 times as likely to get involved in a wreck serious enough to injure themselves. For more information on distracted driving visit Distraction.gov.

Mobile Truck Driver Cited in Mississippi Hit and Run Accident

A motor vehicle accident between a car and 18-wheeler on Interstate 10 in Gulfport, Mississippi has led to a Mobile Alabama truck driver being charged with leaving the scene of an accident. According to Mississippi TV station WLOX, the Mobile truck driver turned himself in after seeing an interview of the victim on television. Police indicated the semi-truck driver struck the other vehicle and knocked it down an embankment trapping the other driver for several hours before helped arrived. Many Alabama car and truck accidents are caused by hit and run drivers. Under Alabama law if the hit and run driver is not identified a claim can be made for the injured party by filing an Uninsured Motorists claim. Alabama case law essentially states that if an injured party can establish that a "phantom vehicle" caused the accident then they can recover uninsured motorists' benefits. Unlike many states, Alabama does not require actual physical contact between the "phantom vehicle" and the injured party's vehicle. If you or someone you know has been injured by a hit and run driver it's important that you hire an experienced Alabama uninsured motorist attorney.

Mobile County Car Accident Caused by A Driver Under the Influence of Drugs

An Irvington, Alabama (Mobile County) car wreck has sent a pregnant woman and her 2 small children to the hospital. Initial reports indicate the at fault driver of the other vehicle was under the influence of drugs (DUI). The Mobile County car accident caused the young mother to go into labor and the baby had to be delivered by c-section at the hospital, because the mother fractured her pelvis in the accident. The decision on whether to criminally charge the at fault driver will likely be made once blood work is returned. Most often when people think of someone driving under the influence (DUI) they think of someone driving under the influence of alcohol; however, many drivers on Alabama's state highways and interstates are endangering the lives of others by driving under the influence of legal and illegal narcotics. As Mobile injury attorneys its sadden us to see the tragic result that too often occurs when someone is driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
