Settlement Reached in Selma Pedestrian Accident

September 22, 2010

Alabama car accident attorney Morris Lilienthal has reached a policy limits settlement involving a car wreck in Selma, Alabama. Our client was a pedestrian who was struck by a car as he was crossing a roadway. As a result of the impact, our client suffered multiple fractures, dislocations and contusions to his legs, arms, shoulders and face. As a result of this wreck out client incurred over $400,000.00 in medical bills. We are pleased that we were able to reach a just and fair policy limits settlement for our client.

One interesting point about this case is how we were able to trigger uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage (UM) under Alabama law. Our client did not own a car; however, he still lived at home with his parents. Because he was a "resident relative" we were able to trigger UM coverage through his father's insurance policy and stack three insurance policies. This is a prime example of why its important to hire an experienced Alabama uninsured motorist accident attorney.
